Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and the makers of Cloudbun ("we", "us") for the Cloudbun app and cloudbun.app (together, "Cloudbun"). By using Cloudbun you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Cloudbun.

Who can use Cloudbun

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms (or have a parent or guardian agree for you). If you're under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account).

Your content

What you write or say to your cloudbun is yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to run Cloudbun for you, for example to send your day's messages to our AI provider when your cloudbun reads your day, as described in the privacy policy. You're responsible for what you share with friends, such as your island name and your cloudbun's name. Please don't put anything in those that's hateful, harassing, sexual or otherwise inappropriate.

The AI

Cloudbun uses AI to reply to you and to notice what you did and planned. It may misunderstand, miss things or make mistakes. You can switch off anything it noticed before you collect. Don't rely on it for decisions about your health, safety, money or anything important.

Play nicely

Don't misuse Cloudbun. For example, don't:

• harass, threaten or impersonate other people, or use friend features to spam
• try to get around limits, access other people's data, or interfere with our servers
• reverse engineer, scrape, resell or copy Cloudbun or its art, except where the law allows
• use bots or modified apps to farm rewards, or try to make our AI produce harmful content

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Virtual items and currencies

Coins, dew, petals, timber, moonstone, seeds, Stars, capsule tickets, items, outfits and other in-game things are a limited licence to use them inside Cloudbun. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and can't be transferred or sold outside the game. We may change how they work to keep the game balanced. Unless the law says otherwise, they aren't refundable once delivered.

Capsule machines give random cosmetic items. Capsule tickets are earned by playing and can't be bought with money or Stars. Cloudbun Plus members get a free daily spin (in Belgium and the Netherlands, free tickets instead). The odds are shown on every machine before you pull.

Cloudbun Plus and purchases

• Cloudbun Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription, sold through the App Store or Google Play. Prices, any introductory price and billing periods are shown in the app and the store before you buy. There is no free trial.
• It renews automatically until you cancel in your store's subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We can't issue refunds for store purchases directly.
• Talking, check-ins, recaps, your island and every care activity stay free. Plus doesn't remove anything you already earned when it ends; members-only looks you received stay in your wardrobe but can only be worn while Plus is active, and themed sets are lent only while Plus is active (pieces you bought with Stars stay yours).
• There are no ads in Cloudbun, on any plan.

Our stuff

Cloudbun, its name, characters, art, music and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the store's rules.

Changes and availability

Cloudbun is a living game. We may add, change or remove features, events and content, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever shut Cloudbun down, we'll give reasonable notice in the app.

Ending things

You can stop using Cloudbun and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive (like ownership, disclaimers and limits of liability) survive.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Cloudbun is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or that the AI will be accurate. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim about Cloudbun is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Governing law

If something goes wrong, please email us first: most things can be sorted out quickly. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country you live in.

Apple App Store

If you got Cloudbun from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for any claims about the app (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If the app fails to meet a warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you're not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo and not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If changes are meaningful, we'll let you know in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Cloudbun after that means you accept the new terms.
